Lenny Kravitz Crashes New Orleans Choir & Performs “Fly Away”

Tahirah Edwards Byfield July 18, 2010 . No Comments

The Smoking Section brought this slice of random awesomeness to my attention.

Only in New Orleans could this happen. Imagine Lenny Kravitz enjoying a little refreshment in outdoor seating arrangement. Suddenly, he hears a familiar tune and drifts towards the sound. Finding the source, The Voice of Praise Choir from First Baptist Church, rocking out to “Fly Away” and Lenny joins them. The rest will now become viral video history.

Amazing. This just made my crush on Mr Kravitz a whole lot deeper.

About The Author

Being born to a father who used to own an independent reggae label and a mother who sang meant a love for melodies, chords, vocals and beats was naturally infused in Tahirah Edwards Byfield. Unfortunately that love for music wasn’t accompanied by any type of musical ability! So the young creative married her love of tuneage with her other favourite form of expression, literature. Combined with the other thing she’s pretty good at – talking too much – Tahirah enjoys waxing lyrical about music and street culture on paper and on radio.
