Check out this performance by The Noisettes‘ lead singer Shingai Shoniwa with a big band version of the group’s smash hit “Don’t Upset The Rhythm” [from sophomore album Wild Young Hearts], performed at Jools Holland‘s incredible 17th annual Hootenanny on New Years Eve’.

[...] One of my favorite groups as of late to come from across the ocean is The Noisettes. I’ve talked about them before, and I spotted this performance of their lead singer Shingai Shoniwa performing with Jools Holland’s big band on his New Year’s Eve special. She performed “Don’t Upset The Rhythm” and gave it the big band treatment, and it was HOT. She sounded great. Got on the piano, ran around stage barefoot and didn’t miss any notes. It was a little bit “stiff” on the account of the band and their ages (LOL), but I loved this. Even the time signature change. Dope! Peep the real video for “Don’t Upset The Rhythm” here if you’ve never heard the song before…I love this song. Shouts to Soulculture! [...]
