A sequel to Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s hit comedy with Danny DeVito, Twins, is now in the works, the former Governor of California and Terminator star confirmed at Comic-Con.
The original movie, a 1988 major box-office hit, told the story of two unlikely twins – portrayed by Schwarzenegger and DeVito – who were separated at birth.
The film was directed and produced by Meatballs and Ghostbusters filmmaker, Ivan Reitman; and written by William Davies, William Osborne, Timothy Harris and Herschel Weingrod.
Reitman is expected to occupy the director’s chair once more for the prospective sequel, with rumours suggesting Schwarzenegger and DeVito will be joined by a third superstar – their surprise triplet, Eddie Murphy.
Whether or not Reitman and co can work up the same magic with a Twins 2 remains to be seen. However, the idea of Murphy, DeVito and Schwarzenegger vehicle is rather intriguing. Twins 2 may just surprise everyone.
