With Skyfall hitting UK cinemas on the 26th October, those behind the film have decided to release another clip involving 007 and one of his closest aides.

In the short video below, Daniel Craig’s Bond meets Q, played by Ben Whishaw (Layer Cake, The Hour), in London’s National Gallery, and the two engage in a conversation laced with sharp metaphors. After Bond initially under-estimates his associate, the pair discuss their generational and physical differences: experience and youth, technocrat and shooter, and so on.

“I can do more damage on my laptop sitting in my pyjamas before my first cup of Earl Grey than you do in a year in the field.”
“Oh, so then why do you need me?”
“Every now and then a trigger has to be pulled.”

Finally Bond shakes Q’s hand, showing his “new quartermaster” a begrudging respect.
