Judging by the quality of acting talent attached to it, the third installment of Marvel’s Iron Man series is shaping up to be one hell of a movie.
Having already signed up the likes of the venerable Ben Kingsley, the excellent Guy Pearce and The Town’s Rebecca Hall to compliment Robert Downey, Jr., Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow, the casting directors of Iron Man 3 have also scored another talented performer to beef up the sheer awesomeness of the latest Tony Stark opus.
Marvel and Disney have selected an older and wiser head to join its stable of fine actors, adding True Blood‘s Dale Dickey to the film’s ensemble cast.
Dickey, who plays Martha Bozeman in the popular TV adaptation of Charlaine Harris‘ Bon Temps vampire-fest, is set to portray a character known simply as Mrs. Davis.
“I’m filming now. That’s it. They asked my agent not to put anything in the trades when I was cast over a month ago, so they are trying to keep as much mystery as possible,” Dickey said.
Iron Man 3 is being helmed by Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director and Lethal Weapon writer Shane Black. Described as a “technological crisis thriller,” the film is just one of many projects lined up for Marvel’s much discussed “Phase 2.”
Iron Man 3 is scheduled for released next year.
