Ice Age 4: Continental Drift might literally (and figuratively) be the coolest movie to come out this year.
The fourth installment of 20th Century Fox’s popular animated franchise features a very hip and musical cast, including YMCMB’s Drake and Nicki Minaj, decorated musician and actress Queen Latifah, singer/actress Jennifer Lopez and Roc Nation singer/songwriter Ester Dean.
Drake and Nicki play young mammoths “Ethan” and “Haley”; Latifah plays “Ellie,” the responsible mammoth matriarch; J-Lo plays the beautiful sabre-toothed tiger “Shira”; and Dean plays a singing sloth named “Siren.”
Outside of its more musically-inclined members, the Ice Age 4 cast also features comedians Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Aziz Ansari and Wanda Sykes, as well as Keke Palmer, Joy Behar and many more.
Here’s a brief synopsis of the film:
Scrat’s nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he’s been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences – a continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounters a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home
Ice Age 4: Continental Drift hits US and UK theatres July 13th. Watch the trailer below.
