Justin Theroux has reportedly signed on to direct and rewrite an upcoming comedy starring titanic funnymen Will Ferrell and Steve Carell.

The film, titled Swear to God, is described as “a two-hander comedy in which Ferrell will play a narcissistic hedge fund manager who thinks he has seen God.”

A skilled actor, a gifted writer and an able director, Theroux, 41, is truly one of Hollywood’s renaissance men. He comes from a long line of talented creatives, dangling from the same family tree as travel writer and novelist Paul Theroux, poet Alexander Theroux and documentary filmmakers Louis and Marcel Theroux.

Theroux has starred in a number of TV shows including Alias and Parks and Recreation as well as notable motion pictures like American Psycho and Mulholland Dr.

Having earned some directorial chops working behind the camera on movies like Tropic ThunderIron Man 2 and Rock of Ages, Theroux is more than capable of helming a quality, laugh-out-loud project, and is also hard at work whipping the Zoolander sequel into shape.

More details about Swear to God should be forthcoming in the next few months.
