Deadline reports that Michael K. Williams, the man fans of hit US series The Wire know as “Omar Little,” has recently been added to the talented cast of director Steve McQueen‘s latest film Twelve Years a Slave, joining the likes of Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
McQueen, who has also directed titles such as Hunger and Shame, directs the film adaptation of Solomon Northup‘s 1853 book of the same name that tells the story of a black man born free but later kidnapped and taken to the southern region of America to be sold for slavery.
Whilst the film has yet to be given a release date, it is rumoured to be hitting US theatres in 2013. Fingers crossed in makes it over to the UK.
