Moviegoers have always loved their sports dramas. Films like Rudy, Remember the Titans, Any Given Sunday, Varsity Blues and, more recently, Aaron Sorkin‘s Moneyball have always been well-loved by cinema audiences, touching the hearts of hardcore and casual sports fans alike.
Robert Lorenz‘s Trouble with the Curve is sure to sate sports movie nuts, offering fans a well-needed fix.
Taking up directing and producing duties, Lorenz teams up with frequent collaborator Clint Eastwood (with whom he’s worked as an assistant director and producer on movies such as J. Edgar, Mystic River, Gran Torino and Million Dollar Baby) to craft a heartfelt sporting drama with an impressive ensemble of actors.
Starring Eastwood, Hollywood wonder woman Amy Adams, superstar Justin Timberlake, and the excellent, excellent John Goodman, Trouble with the Curve tells the story of an aging baseball scout who takes his daughter along on his final recruiting trip as he scouts an exciting new talent.
Written by Randy Brown, the film will be released in the US on 28 September and in the UK on 30 November.
For now, make do with a few newly-unveiled images from the film’s set.
