While the release of DC comic-book movies have been sparse in terms of live-action their animated counterparts have been released much more frequently. Hot off the heels of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 comes Superman: Unbound, the sixteenth film in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie collection.
The film is an adaptation of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s 2008 story arc Superman: Brainiac, which saw The Last Son of Krypton take on the original Silver Age version of the super-intelligent humanoid in a battle that would go on to decide the fate of the world.
Matt Bomer, best known of the lead in the TV show White Collar, will voice the Man of Steel. Accompanying him on voice acting duties are Stana Katic as Lois Lane, Molly Queen and John Noble as Lois Lane, Supergirl and Brainiac respectively.
