Packed with special features including audio-commentary, a production art gallery and footage of stunt rehearsals, The Amazing Spiderman’s DVD release on November 25th also comes with deleted scenes, one of which has been made available for viewing pleasure below.
The scene adds emotional insight to Peter Parker and Dr. Curt Connors relationship, as they’re both men going through unnatural physical changes, and also further details Connors’ motivation for his extreme actions. The fate of Connors’ superior, Rajit Ratha, is also shown.
At two hours and 16 minutes long, it’s easy to see why the final film didn’t include the scene, though it’s a shame, as they appear to help the audience empathise with the characters more and make them even more relatable, which was already one of the film’s biggest strengths.
