Disney really does have this animation thing sewn up and locked down.
Despite having tonnes of classics under their belt, the execs over at Disney remain intent on monopolising the animation business and cornering the market. They’ve got another surefire hit on their hands in Wreck-It Ralph, a charming animated feature with a brilliant premise set to take us all on a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Starring the heinously underrated John C. Reilly, the incredible Sarah Silverman, 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer and Glee, Role Models and 40-Year-Old Virgin comedienne Jane Lynch,Wreck-It Ralph brings the struggles of a classic video game villain to life, as the man in the villain role struggles with his day-to-day job as the token bad guy. With dreams of being a hero, the film’s titular character sneaks his way into a new first-person shooter game, wreaking havoc and sending his arcade into disarray by unleashing a terrorising enemy.
Directed by Rich Moore (The Simpsons, Futurama) and featuring famous bad guys and characters like Super Mario Bros‘ Bowser and Street Fighter‘s Zangief and M. Bison, Wreck-It Ralph looks like a must-see for kids and grown-ups alike. The film hits theatres November 11th.
