The fourth season of the hit sci-fi/superhero comedy, Misfits, is drawing ever closer. The Bafta Award-winning TV show follows an interesting group of young offenders being rehabilitated in a community service program, where they develop supernatural powers after a being struck by lightning during an electrical storm.
The show was created by Howard Overman – the Hotel Babylon, New Tricks, Hustle, Harley Street and Merlin British TV writer – and stars up and coming performers like Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, who is set to return with a whole host of other familiar faces, with the season premiere of the supernatural-comedy edging closer.
The TV show, however, will be undergoing a bit of a makeover, with three of its stars having departed. Iwan Rheon has been snapped up by Game of Thrones; Lauren Socha was sentenced to jail for racially aggravated assault against a taxi driver, and Antonia Thomas has gone on to reap the rewards of new pastures, her character dying in the Season 3 finale.
To make up for the losses, the show will be adding to new delinquent superheroes to the fun and madness; with Karla Crome signing on to star as Jess and Nathan McMullen as Finn.
According to Den of Geek, Jess is a female Larry David. “She’s the person who will say the un-sayable, the person who’ll question social norms and etiquette. Jess hates people who bullshit and lie to her,” the site reports. Finn, on the other hand, is said to be very talkative and funny.
Season 4 of Misfits is set to run exclusively on Hulu and Hulu Plus this Autumn.
