Stoker, the latest film from Oldboy-director Park Chan-Wook has had everyone intrigued since it was announced, and while the film makes its debut at Sundance a new international trailer has been released.

The film focuses on Evie (Nicole Kidman), an emotionally unstable mother who finds comfort following her the death of her husband (Dermot Mulroney) when Uncle Charlie Stoker (Matthew Goode) arrives. Her daughter India (Mia Wasikowska) has never heard of this conspicuous Uncle before, yet finds herself becoming increasingly infatuated with him.

Whereas the first trailer presented the film as something akin to a slow-paced and gothic horror flick, the new trailer is a lot more upbeat and wild due to the change in music and fast cuts.

The film marks Park Chan-Wook’s English-language directorial debut and is based on a screenplay written by Wentworth Miller of Prison Break fame. It’s also produced by the legendary Ridley Scott, his brother the late Tony Scott and Michael Costigan.

Stoker opens in cinemas on March 1, and also stars Lucas Till, Alden Ehrenreich and Jacki Weaver, known best for her roles in Animal Kingdom and recent hit Silver Linings Playbook.
