The 84th Academy Awards: Oscar Winners List | Film News

The 84th Academy Awards took place last night in Hollywood, California and the big winners of the night were the critics choice French Made ode to the classic silent movies, The Artist, which won a total of five Oscars including Best Picture, Best Directing (Michel Hazanavicius) and Best Actor (Jean Dujardin). The other big winner was Martin Scorcese’s family film Hugo which also took home five Oscars for art direction, cinematography, sound mixing, sound editing and visual effects.
A notable Oscar win came in the form of the best documentary category which was awarded to Undefeated, which was executive produced by Diddy and directed by T.J. Martin. The win made history as the first time an African American director has won an Academy Award. See the full winners list after the jump.
