The Office spinoff series The Farm is finally getting some legs. With news of the upcoming show hitting the internet a couple months back, fans have waited with bated breath, watching on as the show’s developer’s hammered away at the project, bringing it to life.
The NBC comedy will feature The Office’s Rainn Wilson [pictured left] reprising his role as the annoying and lovable Dwight Schrute – the weird, wonderful self-described “Assistant Regional Manager” who moonlights as a beet farmer.
The show focuses on Schrute’s strange family and will star The Campaign’s Thomas Middleditch and the extremely beautiful Majandra Delfino – of Roswell (yes, that TV show) and Traffic fame – as Schrute’s siblings Jeb and Frannie.
Reports also confirm Die Hard 2 actor Tom Bower will portray Dwight’s great-uncle Heinrich Manheim, who is quite possibly an ex-Nazi. Heinrich is described as ”charming, greedy, manipulative.”
Breaking Bad’s Matt Jones has also joined the cast of the show as Dwight’s cousin Zeke.
All new characters are to be introduced in an upcoming episode in the ninth season of The Office.
