Rihanna & Christina Aguilera’s X Factor Outfits Spark Complaints

X Factor has come under fire following Christina Aguilera and Rihanna‘s performances in last Saturday’s final.

ITV and broadcast regulator Ofcom have received over 2000 complaints about the singers’ skimpy outfits and raunchy performances during the show.

Christina Aguilera performed “Express”, lifted from the original soundtrack of her movie, Burlesque, with scantily clad dancers performing soft burlesque routines. Rihanna performed “What’s My Name”, the latest single from her latest album Loud. Beginning the performance in a silk gown, the Bajan star stripped down to hot pants and a bra while gyrating to her track.

Their performances took place on the 7pm live show, which aired to an audience of 14 million.

An Ofcom, which received half of the 2,000 complaints, spokesman said it had not decided if it would formally investigate whether the show had broken the broadcasting code for inappropriate scheduling of material unsuitable for children.
An X Factor spokesman said the producers were confident the performances “were appropriate for the show”.

About The Author

Being born to a father who used to own an independent reggae label and a mother who sang meant a love for melodies, chords, vocals and beats was naturally infused in Tahirah Edwards Byfield. Unfortunately that love for music wasn’t accompanied by any type of musical ability! So the young creative married her love of tuneage with her other favourite form of expression, literature. Combined with the other thing she’s pretty good at – talking too much – Tahirah enjoys waxing lyrical about music and street culture on paper and on radio.

the only controversy on the weekend’s x factor was matt winning. what is wrong with the public?? he was at best an average singer, he looked like he’d walked in off a building site. he was the weakest performer in the competition. It takes the x out of the x factor http://onefaceinamillion.com/taking-the-x-out-of-the-x-factor/2058/
