The beautiful Kelly Rowland is set to star in a new comedy pilot.
A former judge on The X Factor, the former Destiny’s Child member’s skills as a thesp are set to come under scrutiny, as she has signed on for the starring role in BET’s new sitcom What Would Dylan Do.
Rowland plays the show’s eponymous protagonist Dylan, who is described as “a struggling L.A.-based relationship blogger” rooming with her buddies Cherise and Brooke. When Dylan’s former fiancee comes back into her life, once-extinguished flames are sparked and old feelings get dredged up.
Rowland is joined by a cast of familiar faces including Grey’s Anatomy‘s Brandon Scott, who plays Dylan’s ex, and The Game‘s Gabrielle Dennis, as well as newcomers like Melanie Liburd.
With Rowland attached to the project, the show will definitely generate some buzz and considerable interest. BET, however, has only ordered a pilot and has yet to order a full series. The show’s future will be decided after the pilot has been shot.
