Yesterday morning, Ne-Yo brought some of his old R&B flavour to Good Morning America‘s live stage for their Summer Concert Series. Prior to performing for the New York faithful, the Motown Records executive announced during a brief interview (to a chorus of moans and groans) that the release date for his sixth studio album R.E.D. (Realizing Every Dream) had been pushed back to later in the year.
“R.E.D. is coming very very soon, I gotta let y’all know I had to push back just a little bit,” he revealed. “The original release date is no longer the release date. I just gotta make sure it’s right for y’all. Just know you’ll have it before next year.”
Soon after the not-so-shocking announcement, the Grammy Award-winning composer performed old favorites “Closer” and “Let’s Go,” as well as his current single “Let Me Love You” and Pop hit “Give Me Everything.” Watch Ne-Yo’s set and announcement below.
