The BBC’s Doctor Who will be returning for its seventh series this August, with the season premiere “Asylum of the Daleks” to be shown at London’s BFI Southbank on August 14 before being aired on television later in the month.
Twenty-nine-year-old actor Matt Smith reprises his role as the Eleventh Doctor, with Karen Gillan starring as his beautiful companion, Amy Pond. Former Emmerdale actress Jenna-Louise Coleman is expected to play the alien Time Lord’s new assistant, taking over for Gillan after her character’s departure in episode five.
Coupling, Sherlock and Adventures of TinTin writer Steven Moffat penned many of the season’s episodes.
