US Remake Of BBC’s Being Human Series Coming In January To SyFy (Preview)

Verse December 1, 2010 Geek, TV Comments

If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch the BBC’s comedy-drama series Being Human about three twenty-something year old housemates trying to live normal lives (Well as normal as you can get when one is a werewolf, one is a vampire and the other is a ghost) then you are sadly missing out on one of the best things I have personally seen on TV for a while.

Well the American SyFy channel liked it so much that they erm… remade the original BBC series into an American version that will premiere on Monday, January 17th at 9/8c. Starring Sam Witwer (Smallville), Meaghan Rath (The Assistants), Sam Huntington (Superman Returns) as the lead characters, I PRAY they try and retain the elements that made this entertaining (If they turn it into a Vampire Diaries show, I will run up on the SYFY channel offices on a bitch slapping mission!)

Check out the preview below.

This is NOT an original series and I’m a bit pissed off that they’re selling it as such. Brits came up with the idea, wrote it down, filmed it and then broadcast it – and then Skiffy (aka SyFy) decides to copy it. Which, they can, the US copies our stuff fairly often and it rarely works. But to claim it as their original idea?

    The mind just boggles.

=-O You’ve gotta be friggin kidding me! I didn’t even know about this until now. They remade Being Human!? Wow… don’t really know what to make of it yet. Why couldn’t Syfy just broadcast the original version? Do the US have to remake ALL the good UK shows?? *DONT_KNOW*
