UK comedy ‘Anuvahood’ directed by Adam Deacon to be released March 18th | Trailer

Tahirah Edwards Byfield February 3, 2011 Film, Film & TV, Trailers 2 Comments

Parodying Noel Clarke‘s films Kidulthood and Adulthood (both of which he starred in), actor/director Adam Deacon creates this generation’s first big screen ‘urban’ comedy, in which he pokes fun at some of the representations of inner city British youth.

His character, Kenneth (who prefers to be known as ‘Kay’) quits his job at supermarket Laimsbury’s and fruitlessly pursues his dreams of becoming a respected rapper/drug dealer/gangster – or ‘cry trying’.

Featuring a solid UK cast, the film also stars fellow Kidulthood/Adulthood actor Femi Oyeniran, Richard Blackwood, Eddie Kadi, Jazzie Zonzolo, Jamie Winstone, Ollie Barbieri, Birds of a Feather‘s Linda Robson and Ashley Walters.

Anuvahood is in UK cinemas on March 18th. Watch the trailer below:

About The Author

Being born to a father who used to own an independent reggae label and a mother who sang meant a love for melodies, chords, vocals and beats was naturally infused in Tahirah Edwards Byfield. Unfortunately that love for music wasn’t accompanied by any type of musical ability! So the young creative married her love of tuneage with her other favourite form of expression, literature. Combined with the other thing she’s pretty good at – talking too much – Tahirah enjoys waxing lyrical about music and street culture on paper and on radio.
