Big Sean shares his beliefs and inspiration on ‘Imagination’ [Video]

Sam Gould November 2, 2012 Hip Hop, Web Series Comments

As part of the build-up to his sophomore release Hall of Fame: Memoirs of a Detroit Player, Big Sean has launched a new webseries in which he talks about his beliefs and inspiration, and in the first instalment, titled ‘Imagination’, he ruminates on how he turned his dreams of making it out of Motown into reality.

The clip shows behind-the-scenes footage of Sean on tour and features appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Common, Paul Wall, 2 Chainz, Meek Mill and many more. At one stage we see the Detroit rapper trying to formulate his opening verse from “Mercy” with Pusha T. Along the way Sean mentions a long list of rappers and groups who inspired him to rap. His list includes the likes of Master P and Big Tymers alongside Biggie, Pac, Mase and Rocafella, where he came through.

The best words of wisdom come from someone closer to home though, his mother.

“My mum told me early on, ‘This world is what you make it, you create your own environment. It all starts with a vision- what you can imagine you can create’”.

Watch Big Sean explain how he made his imagination become real below:

Hall of Fame drops December 18th. Listen to the first single “Guap” here.
