Sports gamers, rejoice!
After releasing a couple sneak peeks at the latest installment of their popular NBA 2K series, 2K Sports finally lets go of the full-fledged trailer for NBA 2K13.
I might be dating myself here, but the last video game I bought was NBA 2K4. That was the same year I graduated college, and I played that thing every day until my nephew talked me into letting him have it. Outside of the handful of times I’ve played Rock Band on PS3, I really haven’t played a game since.
Well this trailer almost makes me wanna pick the stick back up.
First of all, the song choice on this thing is incredible. “Victory” contains a pair of what I think are the most under-appreciated Biggie verses ever, so when I heard the first few notes I was already excited. (Good job, Jay.)
Then there’s the game itself. This thing looks amazing. The movement is extremely fluid, the player animations and personalities totally accurate (down to the wristbands, sock lengths and tattoos), and the arena sounds and commentating sounds super official. Add to that the Dream Team feature and the All-Star content, and NBA 2K13 sounds dope enough to make me pull a Michael Jordan and come out of retirement.
Now if I only had a PS3…
Anyway, check out the trailer below. NBA 2K13 is scheduled to drop in the US on October 2 and internationally on October 5. Get your sneakers ready.
