Wyclef Jean stops by BET’s 106 & Park to discuss his new autobiographical book, Purpose: An Immigrant’s Story.

In the interview, Wyclef details his training regimen for the movie Black November, in which he and Akon co-star. When asked what inspired him to write, He states that he originally started Purpose as a means of therapy, but that it has evolved into a way for everyone to know his story. The Haitian icon cites the huge influence his religious father had in his life from an early age.

Wyclef even delves a bit into what he would have changed about his relationship with Lauryn Hill if he could go back in time, a subject he remained notoriously silent about in years past. All in all, the interview shows a very introspective and reflective man, building curiosity towards his new story.

Purpose: An Immigrant’s Story is available via Amazon.
