Since dominating the blogs last week with the release of “Theraflu,” Kanye West came under criticism from Theraflu, the cold and flu company with the same name, as they issued a statement denying any kind of endorsement of the song. Kanye has now decided to change both the name of the single as well as the artwork, which included an image of the Theraflu bottle.
The new single will now be called “Way Too Cold” and the artwork will be only altered slightly, with a blank white space being left where the bottle was. This has come slightly out of the blue, as, other than the original release of the statement from Theraflu, there doesn’t seem to be any sign of legal action taken against Kanye, so nothing to actually force him to make these changes.
Maybe this was a pre-emptive decision on Kanye’s part as future legal action would probably have delayed the release of the song. Or maybe the use of the Theraflu brand from the beginning was something he used to his advantage as it would undoubtedly get the single more press coverage. I guess we’ll never know.

He’s still an asshole.
For a man who’s fiercely protective of his art, and extremely outspoken when it comes to his feelings other artists haven’t been properly recognized, it sure is mighty hypocritical of him to blatantly steal someone else’s very recognizable brand and directly use their artwork. Theraflu should have sued him up and down, humble that high opinion he has of himself. If it was the other way around, and they had used his imagine, he would have been on every tv show possible denouncing them of calling the pathetic. He claims to be this creative genius, yet he stole a cough remedy’s brand for his new “idea”. So unbelievably lame.
What the hell are you talking about? You make it sound like Theraflu wrote the song. Shut up.
Ah, “shut up”, such a clever, and eloquent out way to frame your thoughts. Kayne must be very proud to have illiterate fans. What am I talking about? Um, the issue the author wrote about, what are YOU talking about? Did you read my post? The one above, where I make absolutely no mention of Theraflu having anything to do with the writing or production of the track, but instead specifically reference the word ARTWORK? I even then go on to say how upset he would be if they used his IMAGE. What did you think those words meant? I don’t mind being called out if someone disagrees with my opinion, but I would appriciate it if you keep it to something I’ve actually said. With the status of these artists, and the millions of dollars they are given to produce a single track, there should be no reason we hear of Kanye ripping off such a ridiculous brand, or Rihanna stealing another artists costumes and scene’s in her S&M video, or Madonna using the song title “Girls Gone Wild”. These are someone elses thoughts and creations, and if with nearly limitless funding available to you, you still are unable to come up with your own ideas, you should not be refered to as an artist. Now, I welcome a response to this specific post, unless you’d rather rant about my dislike for winter, which I also made no mention of.
Ah, pretentious, such a twat.
