It seems 50 Cent was not content to simply talk about saving impoverished children, but rather wished to prove he is a man of his word, and actually took a step closer to doing something about it. The hip hop mogul travelled to Somalia this week, alongside ABC reporter Dan Harris, as part of his Street King initiative which aims to provide a million meals to impoverished countries.

While there Fiddy spent time visiting camps for internally displaced people that have suffered through two decades of anarchic war and famine in the East African nation, and served food to a multitude of children. “At times today, this [very] confident rapper was left speechless,” tweeted Harris.

“I’m in Somalia this week to show the world the devastation that is taking place… Children going hungry everyday, even dying everyday from hunger,” wrote Fiddy. “I am going to keep sending thru images from out here. I need you to take these photos and re-post to your friends. The world needs to see what is going on.”

Some photos from his trip:

Will Fiddy prove to be the new Angelina Jolie and come back with an adopted child under his arm? Time will tell.
