Three teenagers arrested in connection with fire at Pias/Sony warehouse | News

Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the fire that ravaged a Sony warehouse in North London. Two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old are being held on suspicion of violent disorder and arson for the attack which took place on Monday evening.

The warehouse was used by the UK’s biggest independent music and movie distributor Pias, who subcontract their physical distribution out to Sony DADC (Digital Audio Disc Corporation). Over 3.2m releases from a range of indie labels (including Ninja Tune, Domino and XL) were destroyed in the fire. Whilst it was previously assumed that the losses would lead to a significant delay in production, Pias today announced that they would resume shipping next week, having put a strong contingency plan into place.
