GrimeScene.TV caught up with UK rapper Ty outside the second Justice for Smiley Culture public meeting in aid of the circumstances surrounding the death of the reggae pioneer [it is alleged Smiley stabbed himself during a police raid].
The fellow Brixtonian shares his opinion on why it is imperative that the cause is supported by the people, as well as the influence Smiley Culture had not only on his career but the UK music scene, for those who may not be familiar with Smiley.
I was one of the hundreds turned away from the full to capacity Brixton Town Hall. It was good to see that level of support. Many gathered outside in the not-so-warm temperatures discussing possible theories, displaying disgust, faces etched with anger, and some attempting to talk security around to letting them in. Once again, video of the conference is available to watch below.
Key information: there will be a march from Brixton Town Hall to Scotland Yard on 16th April
