Veteran Afrobeat singer, musician, composer and heir to the late great Fela Anikulapo-Kuti‘s Afrobeat throne, Femi Kuti is scheduled to release his forthcoming long awaited studio album, Africa Africa, on March 22.

The 14-track follow-up to 2008′s critically acclaimed and highly successful Day By Day aims by design to portray Afrobeat in it’s purest form and aggressive nature without the polished touches and careful production. Take a listen to Africa Africa‘s lead single, “Dem Bobo” [meaning "They Lied"], below.

Femi Kuti – “Dem Bobo”:

To promote the album, Femi Kuti will be embarking on his first North America tour since 2009 for a 21-date trek that begins at The Opera House in Toronto, Canada on April 19, visits the Highline Ballroom in New York on the 26th (April) and The House of Blues in New Orleans on May 5 before rounding up at Neumo’s in Seattle on May 15.
