Mandem, ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time of the year again – The Official Mixtape Awards (UK), the annual ceremony which held its inaugural event in January 2010, are back to honer and celebrate mixtapes and those who made a significant contribution to the British mixtape industry and culture during 2010.
This year’s ceremony, which held it’s nominations party last night in London, has returned with more categories (eleven in total) and has given fans the chance to vote for they’re favorite mixtapes, artists, producers and DJs, online at their newly launched website, OfficialMixtapeAwards.com.
Leading this year’s nominations are Maxsta, Wiley and Don Strapzy with four nominations each, followed by Ghetts (formally known as Ghetto), Sway and newly signed RCA/Roc Nation artist K Koke all with three nominations each.
Along with honoring those in Grime and British Hip Hop, The Official Mixtape Awards have also recognised the contributions made by Female artists, R&B artists and online media outlets that have shown a great representation of mixtape culture in 2010.
Voting will close on Thursday 3rd March at 23:59… so get voting NOW!!
