Cee-Lo f/ Lauriana Mae – “Only You” | New Music

Cee-Lo Green is back in crooner mode with his new single “Only You”. The duet that harkens to the days of Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye, with newcomer Lauriana Mae playing the soulful counterpoint.

It’s guaranteed to be a spectacle whenever Cee-Lo sets his sights on the subject of love and this track finds the former Goodie Mob man pleading and begging in a way that would make David Ruffin proud. The music is decidedly new school Motown in the vein of the late Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black album. The grooving bass line, precise piano work and stadium-sized chorus will find a comfortable home on Top 20 radio stations. Both singers have the chops to hit those elusive high notes that are going to be the bane of every karaoke deejay for the rest of the year.
