Over the last few days the interwebs have been going into overdrive following the release of the Drake-featuring, Noah “40″ Shebib-produced new Aaliyah single “Enough Said.” With fans of the late R&B icon split in opinion over the single and forthcoming posthumous album which is said to be executive produced by the Canadian superstar, Drake has voiced a few of his thoughts on the project.

Following his OVO Fest a few days ago, Drake spoke to Much Music about his involvement and thoughts on the new Aaliyah single and album. “People should be really excited man, a lot of people thought it was my single, it’s not my single,” explained. “It’s all off an Aaliyah project that me and 40 are commanding and 40 is just doing some incredible music right now. To get 13-14 new Aaliyah songs, I mean everybody should be excited. It’s not about me, it’s not about 40, it’s really all about her and her fans.”

Despite rumours that Aaliyah’s family and past collaborators were not fully behind the project, Drake went on to say: “Everybody from her family to her old management and label were just like, if there was anybody that could do it right now, it’s me and 40, that was an honour and we are going to pull in some classic people, like anybody that used to work with Aaliyah or you know that was essential in her career we definitely hope to have them involved.”
