Eve remixes Brandy & Chris Brown’s “Put It Down” | New Music

After failing to impact much with her remix of Mobb Deep‘s “Quiet Storm“, Ruff Ryders’ First Lady Eve changes tack and drops a new EVEstyle over Brandy‘s Two Eleven single “Put It Down“.

This Bangladesh and Sean Garrett-produced track in many ways helped announce Brandy’s comeback, and it’s a smart choice for Eve, who sounds similarly re-energized as she raps over the bouncy, bass-heavy beat. Playing hard to get with her lyrics, she works her way round the bass slaps and Brandy’s melodies with one of the most nimble verses we’ve heard from her in a while, and whilst I’m not at all mad about Breezy‘s pitch-shifted raps at the end, Brandy and Eve is a winning combination.
