Flux Pavilion talks initial hesitation on Jay-Z + Kanye West sampling him for ‘Watch the Throne’

Toney May 18, 2012 Music Comments

Renowned dub-step artist Flux Pavilion sat down with Its Bongo Boy for an interview just before he made a performance at Roseland in NYC. Talking about when he first started creating dub-step music he states, “when I heard dub-step it inspired a different part of me. It’s not dance music really, its electronic music just with tons of energy.”

The most interesting part of the interview is when Flux said at first he didn’t want to work with Kanye West or Jay-Z because they were too pop. He later changed his mind once he had seen them perform. “It was like I walked on the set of 8Mile, I never seen anything like it.” Flux also speaks on dub-step going mainstream, tour life and more.
