A new posthomous J Dilla album is on the horizon. Serving as the fifth LP since the legendary producer’s death in February 2006, Rebirth Of Detroit will nourish our ears with 25 never-before-heard beats from the Dilla vault, enlisting a fellow Red Wings cast including Danny Brown, Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson, Chuck Inglish and Boldy James to supply the vocal polish.
Rebirth of Detroit is the brain child of Jonathan Taylor, CEO of the Yancey Music Group, which was founded by Jay Dee’s mother, Maureen Yancey. The album will be released on June 12th, physically on his website and digitally elsewhere. Watch the trailer for album below.
