Having stood his ground on one of the hottest albums of the year, good kid m.A.A.d city, by delivering a flawless verse alongside fellow Black Hippy member, Kendrick Lamar on the track “Money Trees”, Jay Rock proves yet again why he’s a force to be reckoned with by effortlessly spitting a number of ‘in-your-face’ bars over a beat provided by DJ Jayhood.
Dressed in a Black Hippy T-shirt, the rapper commands respect as he begins the freestyle and also makes sure to give a couple of nods to his record label, Top Dawg Entertainment. “Now they ask me how I do it/I treat the track like gum, just chew it”, says Jay Rock, as he mean mugs the mic and gives his account of why he’s a threat to the rap game.
