Michell C. Clark October 8, 2012 Hip Hop, Music Comments

Pro.Era frontman Joey Bada$$ talks to Montreality about a variety of subjects, allowing his fans to learn more about his life and views in the wake of the young Brooklyn emcee’s rapid rise to stardom.

Reminiscing on being “the kid who knew everybody” and “a smart kid who got all work done, but never did any homework,” Basa$$ states plainly that his key to success has simply been “being ambitious…and saying it’s possible.”

In the wake of a degree of negative feedback, Joey makes clear that he didn’t intend for his latest mixtape Rejex to be a major release; “I didn’t really want it to be anything big.” Also sharing some fun facts – his favourite cartoons, food etc – the lyricist goes on to talk about who has influenced his style, including his fellow Pro.Era members, Top Dawg Entertainment, J. Cole, Jay-Z and Nas. Watch the full interview below.
