Little Dragon – “Sunshine (Shlohmo Remix)” | New Music

Shlohmo and Little Dragon is a musical collaboration that makes a lot of sense. The L.A. production wunderkid excels at melting down RnB rhythms and vocals, whilst Little Dragon have a voice and sound well-suited to his dark, uber-slow remixes.

“Sunshine”, which can be found on last year’s Ritual Union album, combines their pop sensibilities with a less openly gleeful bassline, a gap in the golden rays which Shlohmo takes and runs with. Ominous synths, heaving bass and cutting drum rhythms transform the mood, lending more emphasis to Nagano’s vocal “Cause I’ve been wondering and feeling lost” than her focus on the happiness of finding love.
