Q-Tip x Kanye West – “Award Tour” live at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival 2011 [Video]

Call me a sucker for unspectacular sentiment but this was a nice moment. Q-Tip brought out Kanye West (dressed uncharacteristically like a rapper from the 1990s) to perform A Tribe Called Quest classic “Award Tour” at the 7th annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. I mean it would’ve been nicer if Phife appeared alongside Tip, but Yeezy in Tribe fancy dress was dope in itself. It’s nice to be reminded that as well as being a global icon, Kanye is a real Hip-Hop head who came in the game flowing on stuff like “Electric Relaxation”. In fact, that freestyle was probably one of the first things I heard by a young Yeezy all those years ago.

Earlier in his set, Tip brought out Busta Rhymes who performed his classic breakthrough verse from Tribe’s “Scenario” and the verse that made him hot in 2011 from Chris Brown‘s “Look At Me Now”.
