Mac Miller decodes meaning behind “PlaneCarBoat” lyrics [Video]

Pittsburgh sensation Mac Miller takes the time to explain the meaning behind his moderately nonsensical, lyrically impressive song “PlaneCarBoat” to Life +Times. Filled with internal rhymes and alliterations that are often difficult to absorb in one listening, Mac Miller reveals the influence of Nas and Eminem on several of the song’s more colorful metaphors, also sneaking in a reference to Family Guy.

Explaining that he sought to describe a fantasy world of some sort, intentionally leaving the viewer disoriented, many of his lines sound a lot better when heard acappella in the video, and his explanations bring newfound respect for his lyricism and the thought behind it. Watch the video below.
