First off, I’d just like to thank 2 Chainz for causing unnecessary confusion. It was announced earlier this month that the Def Jam rapper was due to release a Kanye West-assisted single entitled “Birthday Song” towards the end of July. However, in a sit-down with Vibe a day later, he dismissed the reports, claiming he “didn’t put that out”, and whoever did even got the features wrong.
In the latest turn of events, it seems that the original reports were true, and Tity Boi is, indeed, set to release “Birthday Song” in Yeezy’s company as the latest single from his forthcoming debut album, Based on a T.R.U. Story (out August 14th). Taking to Twitter moments ago, the neckpiece-baring emcee unveiled the artwork for the track, and confirmed its release date of July 24th.
