BJ The Chicago Kid‘s career is taking leaps and bounds. With his debut album, Pineapple Now-Laters, which was released back in February, receiving strong acclaim from both critics and fans, the R&B crooner has signed to Motown. BJ announced the news via Twitter following a show in his hometown of Chicago on Thursday night (August 2nd).

The singer already boasts collaborations with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and Dom Kennedy, but it’ll be interesting to see how many more big names he can attract under the guise of the legendary record label.
