Yesterday, we reported that Chris Brown and Drake, along with their entourages, got in to an all-out brawl at New York club W.i.P that left Brown with a gash on his chin requiring 16 stitches and injured other club patrons. Both artists have now released statements about their involvement as more details about the night’s events have become clearer.
In a statement to ABC News, a representative for Brown says “Chris, (Chris’ girlfriend) Karrueche and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at W.i.P. They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further.”
Representatives from Drake’s camp are denying that the rapper had any part in the fight. “Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began,” Drake’s publicist told ABC News. “He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”
While rumours circulated about who attacked Brown, rapper Meek Mill, who was also partying in the club that night, also had his name brought into the mix. Mill was quick to deny the accusation by tweeting, “It wasn’t me…. (shaggy voice) lol.” Brown corroborated this claim by tweeting that Mill “aint on that bullshit. real respect real.”
