David Rodigan wins Gold Award at Sony Radio Academy Awards | Music News

David Rodigan seems to be reaping a whole heap of blessings recently. He’s been bestowed by the Queen the honor being an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire), earned victory at the New York leg of major sound clash World Cup Clash, and now he’s won Best Specialist Program at last night’s coveted Sony Radio Academy Awards.

Best Specialist Music Programme
Gold Award: David Rodigan (Somethin’ Else for BBC Radio 2)
Silver Award: The Ronnie Wood Show (Somethin’ Else for Absolute Radio)
Bronze Award: Another Country with Ricky Ross (BBC Radio Scotland)

Sir Rodi returns to Radio 2 next Monday (21st May) for 13 more shows at 11pm. Rodigan’s show is much more suited for the Radio 2 audience than Kiss, in my humble opinion. And reggae should be on Radio 2 all year, not just the summer. But that’s just my opinion, too. #ReggaeOnRadio2

BONUS: Watch the enigmatic DJ murdering sound boy Bass Odyssey in New York.
