After occupying headlines for nearly a week for reasons totally unrelated to music, Frank Ocean now makes the news for a different reason. Billboard has confirmed that the soulful crooner’s highly-anticipated album channel ORANGE will be released digitally a full week before its scheduled physical release date.
The album is expected to be released via iTunes shortly after midnight EST Tuesday morning, coinciding with Ocean’s appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon hinted at a “big announcement” about Ocean’s album via his Twitter account Monday evening, but the cat has apparently been let out of the bag.
.@frank_ocean on the show tonight. Tune in for a big announcement about his new album.
