Shady Records‘ quartet Slaughterhouse was forced to perform as a trio at the Best Buy Theatre last night (March 29), as member Joe Budden was bagged by New York Police on an arrest warrant stemming from a 2007 traffic infraction.
MTV reports that the remaining members informed the packed house of Joey’s situation after performing “The Illest” and “Sound Off,” and that the crowd responded with unsolicited chants in support of the missing member.
The chants persisted, and after a couple more performances, Royce the 5’9″, the crew’s Detroit rep, replied by saying “We love Joey too. Chanting for him ain’t gonna get him outta jail.”
The chanting may not have sprung him but Joey was eventually released, as evidenced by a photo tweeted early this morning by Shady Records.
