Maxwell cancels all summer concert appearances for health reasons | Music News

Verse June 22, 2012 Music News Comments

Bad news for all those who managed to get tickets for Maxwell‘s summer concerts this year, as the GRAMMY award winning R&B and soul singer/songwriter has unfortunately been forced to cancel all of the announced concert dates on the advise of his doctors after developing definitive vocal cord edema and a vocal cord hemorrhage.

In a statement delivered via his facebook, Maxwell said, “I know this sucks but after many months of recording I’ve temporarily damaged my voice. I’ve had issues before during other tours, but was able to power through. I’ve been strongly advised to rest and undergo treatment. I look forward to hopefully seeing you next on our full fledged tour, when the sequel to the BLACKSUMMERS’NIGHT trilogy is released. My deepest apologies to those who made the effort to try and see the show. Love and Thanks, M”

Tickets for the affected dates below will be refunded at the point of purchase, with all tickets purchased via the internet or by phone will being automatically to the credit card used.

7/20 – 21 – Los Angeles, CA @ Staples Center
7/27 – 28 – Atlanta, GA @ Phillips Arena
8/3 – 4 Newark, NJ @ Prudential Center

We at SC wish Maxwell a speedy recovery.
