We got a brief look at the video for Life Is Good‘s deeply personal single “Bye Baby” yesterday via its official trailer, and now Nas tells us a bit more about the video.
Speaking with Fuse TV at last weekend’s Southern California edition of the Rock The Bells festival, the QB OG said that he’s always been a fan of Guy, whose 1988 song “Goodbye Baby” was sampled for the single, and that the “Bye Baby” video is an unintentional nod to that era.
“I think it’s kinda got a 90′s feel to it. I wasn’t even trying to go that route but it just turned out that way,” he said. “It’s special like that.”
He also revealed that he has already shot several videos for Life Is Good, a few of which were scheduled to be released before “Bye Baby.” Despite that, he says he wanted to put this one out now to get it out of the way, and he’s excited about it.
“I can’t wait to get it out there and continue the love movement. Life is good.”
