With three singles and her debut album all hitting the number one spot in the UK, Rita Ora‘s rise to fame is happening at warp speed – but that doesn’t stop her from keeping humble and remembering her roots as she heads back to Kosovo to shoot her new music video.
The next single taken from her debut album Ora will be “Shine Ya Light,” and speaking to the crowd that had gathered to watch her film in the small city of Pristina, the Roc Nation signee states, “This is the only place I wanted to shoot my video.”
While stood on top of the giant letters of the Newborn monument on the set of her new video, the singer beamed and got teary eyed when the crowd – obviously proud of how far she’s come – starting chanting her name. The crowd also lapped it up when Rita addressed them in her native tongue and was seen teaching one of her dancers a traditional Albanian dance.
Although Rita was raised in London, she was born in Kosovo and moved away when she was just one year old – and is proud to be putting Kosovo on the map.
